A medium-depth clinical, chemical peel  is a safe, effective, and reliable method for treating fine lines and wrinkles. The process involves the application of an exfoliant to your skin’s surface to remove superficial wrinkles and improve its texture. Apart from treating fine lines and wrinkles, a mild chemical peel also works well on pigmentary dyschromias and depressed scars.

Medium-depth peels wound your skin through the papillary dermis, necrotizing the epidermal layer and part or all of your papillary dermis by means of an inflammatory reaction in the reticular dermis. This stimulates a healing reaction in your body to create fresh new skin cells and beautiful healthy skin.

This is not a salon or cosmetology 'facial peel'. These treat the superficial layer, or epidermis, plus the  permanent layer of your skin, the dermis, for permanent results. Normally, only one peel is required for outstanding results: 70-90% reduction in troubled pigment. Clinical peels have been found to be extremely effective in treating fine lines without causing any adverse side effects.

They are AMAZING for those 30+

Gold-Standard for Pigment, Sun Spots and Melasma

Peels at higher concentrations produce deeper peeling, as does the number of applications of solution applied to a given area. Peels can improve wrinkles of the skin by improving the collagen and elastin fibers of the skin, strengthening and repairing them. They  can also improve the appearance of acne scars, fine lines around the eyes and mouth, discoloration associated with the sun, hormones, and aging.

Our chemical peels are powerful but very safe, industry proven for decades and customized to your skin type.  They are safe for all skintones, for acne and for melasma! (Laser peels/CO2 resurfacing is NOT suitable for dark skin nor melasma)

These are not superficial peels that you receive in a salon facial. These are paramedical peels with significant results.  Their safety and effectiveness when used in a clinical setting is very well-studied and documented as a proven way  to permanently improve the quality and appearance of your skin.

Preparation:

There are a few things to do before a peel. If you have darker skin, you may be asked to use a lightening agent to help with pigmentation. We request you limit excessive sun exposure and wear SPF30+ at all times for one month prior. AHA and retinol can help prepare your skin and exfoliate for best application, stop 1 week prior to your peel. The better you prep and aftercare, the better your results!

Some conditions, like pregnancy, are contraindicated and your past and currently health will be discussed during your complimentary consultation. A list of items to be used in 1st stage of healing will be provided to you for purchase from the pharmacy.

Day of Treatment:

Your skin will be disinfected and a numbing agent will be applied for approximately 20 minutes, then cleaned off, and the skin degreased for optimal penetration of the peel acid. Your clinician will customized the peel for your skin type, condition and goals, and will apply a prep layer to help the peel to penetrate. Usually one or two layers of the peel is applied, you will experience some discomfort that will fade quickly. Your face is then cleansed, and a protective ointment is applied that will stay in place for 24 hours.

Recovery:

We ask our clients to plan a 'staycation' during recovery. Aftercare involves daily soaks and ointment, full instructions are provided.

Chemical peels will result in the skin having a red appearance, which darkens and tightening, followed by peeling of skin for about 5-7 days and require absolute SPF50 sun protection for 3 months.

After the skin sheds, you will have fresh, baby pink skin which will mature over the next few weeks. We can provide you an optional 2nd stage healing kit for purchase, to use during this period, to aid in continued healing and reduce redness.

Treat this skin gently as it recovers, SPF all the time and no actives for one month, then you may return to regular skincare. Your new skin is permanent, but can still be subject to aging and damage so take care of it to retain your results! We will also recommend products to inhibit additional excess pigment formation from recurring, etc.

Peels can be repeated after 3 months, we offer a 50% discount on a second peel to the same region at that time, should additional results be desired.

These are Clinical Peels, permitted for use by Medical Clinicians and Doctors/Nurses only. We offer ours for about 75% less than cost from a doctor.
