Permanent Cosmetics is known by many names. Micropigmentation, Cosmetic Tattooing, Permanent (or Semi-Permanent) Makeup, Dermagraphics, and Microblading are but a few. On this page, I will use the term Permanent Cosmetics.
Permanent Cosmetics is the art, and science, of implanting tiny particles of color (pigments) under the skin, into the dermal layer. All methods do so via needles, either held in a hand and applied manually, or as needles in a specialized instruments, an electric clinical device.
During a complimentary virtual or in-person consultation with your Clinician, you will discuss your specific need for the procedure, your goals, and your desired aesthetics. Your medical history and expectations will be discussed, and plans for your custom design will be made. You will be provided with careful preparatory instructions to follow for your treatment.
All instruments used at my clinic are one-time use, disposables. This meals that your instruments are unpackaged and used for YOU only. The procedural room is setup just like a dentist or doctor's clinic, with all the sterile products and care you would expect for a medical procedure.

Pigments used are a variety of both organic and in-organic colors. They may include iron oxides - which are minerals not unlike what you use in high-end cosmetics. Pigments for the face are designed specifically to fade over time, but all tattooing should be considered permanent. |
The outer layer of skin, the epidermis, sheds and renews itself constantly. When you view a healed result, you are looking at the healed color through a thin veil of skin. So immediately after the procedure is completed, the color will appear darker than the final result. This is because the color is in BOTH the epidermis and the dermis. The color in the top layer will flake off during the healing process. The new epidermis will heal OVER the color, muting and softening the result. The redness from the application with needles will heal, and any minor bruising or swelling will subside. A second application is required within 4-8 weeks (directed by your clinician). 2 or more applications may be necessary to fully establish the color and shape - within 1 year you pay only the booking fee.
Every person heals differently and the longevity is also affected by skin quality, lifestyle, sun exposure etc. We advise maintenance refreshing be performed every 1-5 years. And with occasional maintenance, the pigmented areas can last a lifetime.

Improving your results is a great satisfaction for me, and making you feel better is a priority. Whether they are misapplied, crooked, faded, changing color, I will work to get you the best result.
