Q. What type of skin is the peel okay for?
A. Our peels are okay for Rosacea, acne, sun damage, fine lines, dry and unevenly pigmented skin. They are okay for white skin, brown skin and black skin (depending on the type we choose). Your peel is customized for your skin type and issues to be addressed.
Q. Why are peels good?
A. Peel treatments cause the regeneration of new cells to occur at a faster rate than they would do naturally. Natural skin turnover follows our 28-day biological calendar like other body cycles. The speed of the cell turnover cycle decreases as we age. Collagen and elastin, which comprise a large part of our skin's support structure, also decreases.
Keep in mind, however, that achieving healthy skin depends on other factors such as diet, smoking, stress, as well as a healthy skin maintenance program at home in conjunction with monthly facial treatments. They are a mechanical removal of the issues in your skin.
You can expect:
- Reduction in dark spots/sun damage
- Improved skin texture
- Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
- Plumper, softer, tighter and radiant skin
- Reduction in acne and acne scars
- Reduction in facial and chicken pox scars
The results start after the skin has peeled away, leaving the new skin behind. However, collagen remodeling takes place all the way up to one year.

Q. What will happen the day of the peel?
A. You have a skin evaluation, followed by the procedure. Your face will be cleansed, and numbed with a topical agent. Once numb, your skin is de-fatted (the oils are removed), and the peel is applied in one or more layers.
Your face may be mildly white for a few minutes to a few hours, which shows us the peel has reached the right depth. Usually you look the same right after. Later you may experience mild redness
You will NOT be able to wash your face after the procedure or apply makeup. It is best to go home right after. Expect about 1 hour for your application.
Peels are NOT regular facials or salon peels. We do not perform ANY extractions, steaming, or massage with any of the chemical peel treatments.
Q. What will happen the next day after the peel?
A. In the next few days, your face with become tight, shiny and may become red or brownish. Some people do not flush at all. It depends on your type of skin and issues.
By the 2nd day, you may experience tightening and shiny skin before it begins to peel.
Q. How much downtime is expected with this peel?
A. There is no actual downtime. No makeup can be applied to the skin until peeling is done.
Some people may peel a lot and some people may peel less. The peeling is not always even on the skin. It will usually start around the areas that the skin moves most.
It will take one week for full skin to appear normal and you may feel odd in public during the peeling phase so we recommend you stay home while the skin is dark or peeling.

YOU MUST WEAR A HIGH SPF SUNSCREEN DAILY, EVEN WHILE INSIDE FOR AT LEAST 8 WEEKS. But ideally, always, to maintain lovely skin.
Q. When will I start "peeling", for how long and how much?
A. Everyone's experience will be different. However, on average, you will see the skin begin to shed by day 2 or 3 following treatment. It is possible to see some flaking for up to 5 or 6 days.
Q. Should I expect any discomfort when having a peel?
A. It will vary. You may experience a "warm" feeling, as well as a mild tingling or stinging, which only lasts for a few moments. We will use a topical numbing agent to make you more comfortable. The peel neutralizes in three minutes, and we cleanse your skin and apply ointment.
Your clinician will go over your aftercare instructions. There is no pain after your session or during healing.
Q. My skin is very thin. Why would I want to peel? Wouldn't that make my skin thinner?
A. If your skin is very dry and thin, often there is a buildup of dead cells that actually keeps your home care products from penetrating. Having a peel will remove that surface build-up, hydrate the skin and give it a more plump, "thicker" appearance. Your skin quality will be improved.
Q. Can pregnant or lactating women receive a peel?
A. No.
Q. What ingredients are in the peel?
A. It depends on the person's skin and whatever we choose such as Glycolic, Lactic, TCA, and AHAs, and/or Jessner's/Asprin or some other ingredients.
Q. How soon can I do another peel?
A. You must wait at least 4 weeks as much as 6 months before the next one in the same region for strong peels. Lighter peels may be performed more often, on the schedule advised by your technician.
