CO2 lasers use fractionated pulses of laser light at 10600nm. These beams penetrate the skin’s surface, where water in the skin cells absorbs them.
When this happens, small spots of the epidermis (or superficial layer of your skin) is vaporized. The dermis, or middle layer, heats up, stimulating the growth of new collagen fibers. As the area heals, new firmer, smoother skin replaces the old layers.
Cool Peeling treatment, in particular, is considered one of the safest forms of laser treatment as it specifically targets only the water in the skin. TRADITIONAL CO2 laser was first developed in 1964 by Patel and colleagues working Bell Labs in the USA. It was also quickly recognized as an ideal surgical laser because of its high water absorption, and many indications were pioneered by the late Professor Isaac Kaplan and others. This technology was later remastered and designed as a fractionated laser, unparalleled today for safe and dramatic skin rejuvenation.

This NEW fractional procedure was designed to deliver high peak power in extremely short pulses at low energy settings. The super-short pulse creates controlled injury to the epidermis and superficial dermis with less heat build-up in the skin, offering an optimal level of ablation with minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissue. This allows for faster recovery and downtime than with most ablative lasers.

How to Book?
Following your complimentary consultation and approval for treatment, you will be provided with instructions on how to prepare for about a week prior to your appointment. Darker skin types, those with compromised immune systems, pregnant or nursing and some other conditions may be contraindicated.
The Day of Procedure
You will arrive and have your skin disinfected. No numbing is required with this gentler treatment, you’ll receive special eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser, and the laser wand will be moved slowly over the area of skin as a random, speckled application of the laser instead of the normal 'grid-like' CO2 patterning. You may feel a 'prickly' or 'spicy' sensation. The treatment is short - under 20 minutes. After which we will apply a soothing gel and ointment.
Many clients stack Secret RF with Cool Peeling in the same appointment. MNRF combined with Cool Peeling is an excellent treatment for skin laxity and lift. By combining the two modalities, we can offer both a deeper treatment with MNRF and more superficial treatment with Cool Peeling to also optimize resurfacing results.
You may receive an ice pack to apply on your way home. For a few hours after treatment you may feel some heat like a sunburn and light sting. You may generally resume makeup, work and exercise NEXT DAY.
Recovery
Full recovery instructions are provided to you, not much aftercare to do and there is no to very little downtime but skin may look a little sunburned or speckly and textured/feel rough to the touch for approx.3-4 days. Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF50, redness usually fades in first 2 days.
Cool Peeling is a nice rejuvenator - we recommend a monthly series for visible results - until desired improvement is achieved, normally a minimum of 3 sessions. Final results are visible 90 days after each session.

Can this be used in combination of other treatments?

This treatment is a generalized rejuvenating treatment for the entire face and/or neck and décolletage, not normally for targeting of specific flaws or upper eyelids.
