Please refer to the information provided to you on the procedural page, and also in the consultation form you completed. You will receive a reminder 24 hours prior to your session

Pre Treatment:

  • Waxing, plucking and/or the use of chemical depilatories must be avoided in the treatment area for 2 weeks before and after the treatment to avoid skin sensitivity. Completely shave the hair in area to be treated within 24 hours of your appointment if necessary. It is not necessary to shave eyebrows or eyelashes for treatments in those areas.
  • Ensure you inform the clinic if you have a history of hyperpigmentation. In this case you may be prescribed a topical lightening cream to be applied for 2 – 4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Accutane must be discontinued for at least 6 to 12 months prior to laser treatments  Avoid photosensitizing medications before your treatment, and not used during the treatment plan, please inform your technician of any new medications you may be have been prescribed by your doctor.
  • Direct sun, including tanning beds and the application of sunless tanning products, should be avoided for 2 weeks prior and after the treatment, preferably 4 weeks. Sun exposure, tanning, and sunless tanning products decrease the effectiveness of the laser treatment and increase the chance of post-treatment complications.
  • Apply a broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) physical sunblock SPF 50 daily if the area being treated is exposed to the sun. Reapply often.
  • Area to be treated must be clean, and free of any lotion, makeup, and sunscreen. If you have any of these on, they must be completely washed off prior to treatment.
  • Wear clothing that will allow the tattoo to be easily accessible to the treatment, and easy to remove for you at home after the dressing is applied.
  • Remove jewelry etc, anything reflective must be put away during procedure (glasses, cellular phones, etc)
  • If your doctor normally prescribes sedation, you may take it prior to procedure. But, please ensure you have a ride to and from your appointment. Please do not consume alcohol or recreational drugs, these can affect procedure and sensitivity.
  • You may not be pregnant or nursing  during  any treatment.
  • During the course of your treatments, notify our staff of any changes to your medical history, health status, or personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment.
